St Denys Reordering

Reordering of St Denys Church

For over 10 years, the PCC has been reflecting on how St Denys might be reordered to be ‘fit for purpose’, serving the whole parish for the years and decades to follow.

With our parish population rising sharply, and, except for the well-used village hall and school, there being no other place for groups to meet, it has become a parish necessary to find appropriate ways to reorder the inside of St Denys so that it can be adapted and used by a wide  range of groups in the village.

We are currently in detailed discussion with the Diocese of Oxford in relation to plans which would see our heavy pews replaced by stackable, comfortable chairs, a toilet facility installed in the tower ground floor area, a safer access route to the ringing chamber, a kitchen servery affixed to the south eastern wall of the church and, better storage in church etc.

As soon as the process of obtaining the Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC) approval has been competed, we shall upload full details of the reordering to this website, as well as displaying architects plans on a notice board inside the church.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact the vicar or church wardens.
